Toyota said it would invest $600 million in its plant in Princeton, Indiana, and add 400 jobs. The money was for more output of the Highlander SUV. The investment falls under the $10 billion US pledge Toyota made earlier that month.
Why it matters
The investment was the first plant project Toyota announced under its five-year pledge, aimed at demand for larger vehicles in the US.
