THK agreed to buy the Linkage and Suspension business of TRW Automotive in Europe and North America for $400 million in cash, subject to adjustments. The business has about $550 million in annual sales across the two regions, so it is not a US-only operation. TRW is based in Livonia, Michigan, and THK announced the deal in Japan on April 22, 2015.
Why it matters
The deal moved THK, known for linear motion guides, further into automotive components and gave it plants in both North America and Europe.
