Blue Yonder, the US supply-chain software company owned by Panasonic Connect, signed a binding agreement to acquire One Network Enterprises for about $839 million. One Network runs a cloud network linking more than 150,000 trading partners. Blue Yonder said the deal brought its acquisitions since late 2023 to about $1 billion.
Why it matters
Panasonic bought Blue Yonder in 2021 to build a software business, and this add-on deal turns it into a platform connecting suppliers, carriers and retailers rather than a single-company planning tool.
The deal
Blue Yonder signed the binding agreement on March 29, 2024. One Network, based in Dallas, was founded by its chairman Greg Brady. Its cloud platform lets companies and their suppliers and carriers share data on inventory, orders, deliveries and payments in one place.
Blue Yonder's buying spree
It was Blue Yonder's third deal in about a year, after Flexis, a factory-planning software company, and Doddle, a UK returns technology firm. Blue Yonder, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, is led by chief executive Duncan Angove, who said the deal would make it a leading supply chain solutions company.
What customers get
Blue Yonder said shared data would help customers avoid disruptions and cut order-to-delivery times from days to minutes. It also said the deal adds to its Dallas office, which it calls its Global Innovation Center.
