Why it matters
Nissha is shifting from touch panels to medical device contract manufacturing; Isometric adds micro-molding for smaller, less invasive devices.
About Isometric
Isometric Micro Molding is based in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Its parts go into sensors, skin patches, sheaths, anchors, surgical robots and implants for blood vessels in the brain, and it also does tool making, measurement, micro 3D printing and automated assembly. Chief executive Donna Bibber and president Wayne Shakal had bought the company in 2021. It had sales of about ¥2.91 billion and a net profit of about ¥331 million.
Nissha's medical push
The buyer was Nissha Medical Technologies in Buffalo, New York, a contract developer and maker of minimally invasive surgical tools and wearable devices. The deal followed Nissha's capital and business tie-up with EndoTheia, which designs endoscopic devices.
