Lintec, through its US subsidiary Mactac, bought the pressure-sensitive label paper and film business of Ohio-based Spinnaker. The business makes sheet stock for printers and short-run roll labels. Lintec put the price at about ¥4.67 billion, and the business now runs as Spinnaker Pressure Sensitive Products.
Why it matters
This was Lintec's third US label deal after Mactac (2016) and Duramark (2021), building one of the bigger label materials groups in North America.
What Mactac bought
The deal covered Spinnaker's plant and headquarters in Troy, Ohio, and distribution centers in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and Vails Gate, New York. The business had about $130 million in yearly sales. All of its employees and managers were kept, and it runs as a standalone Mactac subsidiary.
Lintec's US build-out
The new unit adds sheet stock for flat-bed printing and short-run roll labels in many varieties. Lintec has been building up its printing and information materials business in North America through Mactac since 2016.
