Kyoei Steel bought BD Vinton, a steel mill in Vinton, Texas, from Bayou Steel BD Holdings through its US subsidiary. The cost was about ¥6.117 billion including fees. The mill was renamed Vinton Steel.
Why it matters
The mill gives Kyoei Steel its own steelmaking base inside the US market instead of relying on exports from Asia.
