Kurita Water Industries said it would raise its stake in Pentagon Technologies Group, a California company that provides precision cleaning for semiconductor makers, from 26% to 51% for ¥5.875 billion. Kurita had bought its first 25% in April 2019; the price of that step was not found. The value comes from Kurita's Japanese disclosure.
Why it matters
The deal followed Kurita's purchases of U.S. Water Services and Avista Technologies earlier in 2019 and extended its business from water treatment into services for chip plants.
